Our history dates back to 1964, when JT Salem founded Bunny “B” Sauerkraut Balls & Ice Company.
In 1993 the business was purchased by Pete Rizapolis. At that time, Pete changed the name to Or Derv’s. Pete continued to grow the business with sauerkraut ball production.
In November of 2005 current CEO and Owner Keith Kropp purchased Or Derv’s. At that time, the name was changed to Or Derv Foods Inc. When Keith purchased the company, the focus and strategy of the company changed. The focus of the business began to take shape under Keith, by focusing mainly on the foodservice and retail markets with the capability to co-pack and produce custom items for every market segment.
Steady growth in production as well as the addition of several new products and services set the company up for a major expansion. On July 23, 2013, owner and President Keith Kropp of Or Derv Foods Inc. combined the services and investment of Bob Shearer Akron LLC., a local investment group consisting of Robert Shearer, Co-founder of Shearer’s Foods, Inc. and Founder and CEO of Shearer Solutions LLC, Bob Hanline, founder and CEO of The RS Hanline Company, Al Melchiorre, CEO and President of Melcap Partners LLC Investment Bank, Steve Surmay, VP at Shearer’s Foods, Inc., and Joe Rogers, COO of Shearer Solutions.
In 2015 Or Derv Foods, LLC changed the name of the business to Ascot Valley Foods, LLC to better portray the growth and capabilities of the business.

We manage complaint quality assurance and food safety measures to assure that we are delivering safe, quality products to exceed our customer’s needs.
Ascot Valley Foods is a GFSI, SQF Level 2, USDA certified manufacturer of unique frozen foods. Established in the early 1960’s and located in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, we are most recognized for our “Bunny B” branded sauerkraut balls. In the last 10 years, we have expanded our product offerings to include over 20 unique and easy- to-prepare appetizers and prepared meals, from vegan and vegetarian falafel to pizza’s and burrito’s.
Food Quality and Food Safety remain our top priority. We meet or exceed all federal and state regulatory laws and guidelines for food production safety. In addition to USDA inspections, the following programs help insure consumer food safety in all of Ascot Valley Foods areas of production and distribution: Production Date Program, Certified Quality Assurance Department, Preventative Pest Control Program, Full Recall Procedure Program, HACCP Program, Seafood HACCP Program. Ascot Valley Foods is GFSI and SQF Level 2 certified by the BSI Group Food Safety Inspection and Certification Program; which awarded Ascot Valley Foods a 98% “Excellent” Rating for their 2014 SQF Level 2 audit.

Ascot Valley Foods is a proud donor of food to the Akron Canton Food Bank, whose contributions are used to feed the homeless and less fortunate people in the area. We also support the annual Akron Canton Food Bank "Taste of the NFL" fundraiser, Goodwill, Haven of Rest, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
